Thomas M. Bohl received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Accounting from California State College at Dominguez Hills
in 1976 and his Master's degree in Public Administration from Pepperdine
University in 1979. He graduated from Santa Barbara College of Law
(cum laude) in 1985 with a Juris Doctorate degree.
Mr. Bohl was a Deputy District Attorney with
the County of Ventura for three years, trying Municipal and Superior
Court cases to verdict. Prior to that time, he served as a Deputy
Sheriff for six years for the County of Santa Barbara, and three years
as a police officer for the City of Whittier. Mr. Bohl's experience
includes the handling and trial of a wide variety of insurance defense
matters, including product liability, premises liability, construction
defect, and governmental entity law. For the past ten years the emphasis
of his practice has been in construction defect and construction site
accident claims and litigation. Mr. Bohl has tried in excess of 45
jury trials to verdict. In addition, he has participated in approximately
50 binding arbitrations as well as approximately 750 mediations.
He is a member of the State Bar of California,
Ventura County Bar Association, the Association of Southern California
Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute. Additionally,
he acts on assignment as arbitrator on behalf of the Ventura County
Superior and Municipal Courts and has served as Judge Pro Tem.
He has been a featured speaker at several construction
defect seminars and insurance training seminars.
